"This is an excellent guide for preparing for the TEAS exam. It's both wide ranging and thorough; nothing about the TEAS test is left out. If it's going to be on the test, you'll find it addressed in this book. Of course, there's no way any study guide can predict the exact questions that will be on the exam, but the writers are obviously well acquainted with the test subject matter. They give some subject more extensive treatment than others, of course, as minor topics may not even come up on the TEAS, while there will likely be several questions of topics of more importance.
There are practice tests in the book, contrary to some of the other reviews on here. (Maybe the newer editions have been updated?) The authors stress the importance of using practice tests to prepare for the real exam, and they include some to allow the student to spot any weak areas or blind spots. But that's not the only good thing about the guide. One of the most important things you'll learn from this book is that there are strategies and tactics you can employ to take advantage of the format of standardized tests, and to greatly improve your chances of getting the question right even when you're not sure of the answer by taking advantage of the format. The average reader may be aware of a few of these ""tricks"", but it's likely that you'll find several more in here that had never crossed your mind.
Another thing that really stood out is the length the book goes to in order to help readers learn how to think when trying to solve a problem or answer a tricky question.
